Full Circle Adventures!

From Arizona to the Yucatan (skipped India)
went to Guatemala instead -

We're Now Back in Sedona...
(Let the Book Publishing Begin!)

After 7 fun-filled, adventurous months in the Yucatan and Guatemala, Amelia and I returned to Sedona in July so I could get my new book, Parallel Worlds, published and recorded for the audio-book version.

But before going to the Sedona pictures from this summer, here's Antigua Part 2!! (If you haven't seen our pictures from the Yucatan and our first few months in Antigua - click here).

For several years I had the idea of taking Amelia out of the USA when she was 12 or 13. We had the BEST time together! Here's Amelia cooking as part of her home schooling education - along with her onion cutting solution! (p.s. If you've never made homemade sauce with fresh roma tomatoes (10-12) an onion or two and garlic - all sauteed in butter - YUM!!)

Home school onion chopping lab!
My son, Andrew, joined us in Antigua and did an incredible job helping me finish editing Parallel Worlds (and adding some creative writing of his own). In fact, he liked it so much he's still living there with friends of ours and working on a book of his own.

His house mate, Jenny, took this picture of Andrew (also Amelia on her birthday complete with tiara and parrot) and she's teaching him about photography - here's Jenny's beautiful site!

When I last left off on our adventures - we had been camping on the beach in the Yucatan, to temple ruins in Mexico, then moved to Antigua - bought lots of ice cream cones for kids in the park; found a wonderful stable where Amelia started taking riding lessons and began show jumping, and had just moved into our new home with the view of the volcano, Agua, below. The next big event was a pillow fight!

Pillow fights are actually a very important part of Guatemalan culture. Just kidding! An American woman (with the pink pillow!) set this up and 35 people showed up at 'Central Park' in Antigua. Happily everyone was tuckered out by time the police arrived!

May was an exciting month! Amelia turned 13! I had a Gemini birthday later in the month! And Parallel Worlds was officially born!!

I was all set up to record the audio-book - except for one minor detail... The Rainy Season!! (Image a roof with no insulation or ceiling!) The rainy season 'began' with a volcanic eruption, which included so much ash it shut down Guatemala City and the airport (for 2 weeks!) and sent golf ball sized fireballs raining down on surrounding towns. (The volcano pic is actually called 'Heart of Fire' and wasn't shot in Guatemala - but I just love that heart! The sinkhole is the real deal!)

Then all that ash turned into 'cement' when a hurricane hit the next day. But that was nothing compared to the mudslides and a sinkhole of epic proportions that swallowed a 3 story building and was over 200 ft. deep (the one in 2007 was 320 ft. deep!) As you can see Guatemala doesn't goof around when it comes to sinkholes!! (I'm thinking they should start a bungee jumping business!)

At this point, everything began pointing in the direction of going back to the USA to record and publish/market Parallel Worlds, but first....

Amelia was in a horse show jumping 80 - 90 cm jumps, and making it look effortless and ever so graceful! But Amelia realized that as much as she loved jumping and showing, she didn't like the bits and equipment used on the horses, and she decided she wanted to go back to 'natural horsemanship' training.

And to do that she needed to be back in the states - so moving back to Sedona was the next step for Amelia too! (The video on the right shows the difference between the equipment used in many cases, and learning to speak the 'language' of horses!)

Back in Sedona!

When we left for Central America we did it on total TRUST and gave Amelia's horse to a wonderful friend who lives in Sedona. Now that we're back, Amelia gets to pick up where she left off with Izzy and her natural horsemanship training! In the picture on the left, Izzy had been galloping around the arena and then 'joined up' with Amelia and followed her without a halter or lead rope.

On the right, Amelia is riding without a bridle or bit, just bareback with a halter. And this is all part of her self-created home school plan!

While Amelia rides and plays with Izzy I've been hanging out with her and editing the PW audio-book - I love my 'office'!

My 'other office' view is the picture of our backyard (below and lower right) which is occasionally used as a golf course! Wilson is still my self-appointed 'secretary' and takes his job (which includes a 12 hour cat-nap) very seriously!

Of course it wouldn't be Sedona if you didn't have a full-on UFO experience! Though I didn't take this picture, it's exactly what Amelia and I saw the other night at 3 a.m.!! It's called an 'Ultradimensional Lightship' by James Gilliland - a man I know personally - who owns ECETI.org Ranch, where this picture was taken at Trout Lake, WA. (You can see videos on his site as well!)

As Amelia and I lay on the grass looking at the craft while toning - it would 'power up' until it was at least 10x brighter than any star. Not only that, but it seemed to be able to affect the atmosphere, in that, every time I would intend something out loud or in my mind, or simply extend love and appreciation, the 'response' was instantly sheet lightning lighting up the clouds on the horizon, or we'd see a shooting star. And this happened EVERY time!

At one point, Amelia complained that it was starting to rain and that she was going to go inside. I asked her if she would stay a little longer and tone (sing) with me, because I felt that the ship was fully aware of our presence and that they would enjoy and/or respond to us toning. Within less than a minute the clouds completely dissipated, there wasn't another drop of rain, and as we sang we particularly noticed all the shooting stars!

Another amazing thing was that the lightship stayed 'powered up' for 2 hours. And just before I was ready to go to bed, a thought flashed in my mind. I had seen UFOs in Telluride at a cabin where I was staying back in the early 90's. And each time coyotes would be howling. When I returned to Utah from that trip, I was hiking in the evening and then sat down to meditate. In my mind I 'asked' if the ship was still present - and for the first time in my experience hiking in this place (where I'd been going regularly for several years) a whole pack of coyotes started howling. I considered that to be a 'yes'! So when these pictures of the cabin in Telluride and the evening hike popped into my head (something I hadn't thought of in 15 years) I said in my mind, "Oh, are you the same ones?" And instantly a pack of coyotes started howling!

I then picked up my pillow and blanket off the ground and took one more look at the ship. It instantly 'powered down' and looked like nothing more than a regular star!

Are we having fun or what?!
